Exhibitions

Partially Severed is a solo exhibition of new work by Samantha Wall.

The opening will be held on Thursday, September 6, 6-8pm.

In the exhibition, Samantha presents a series of drawings that use the female body as a site of struggle between subjective narrative and representations of women in Asian horror cinema. Her work is an attempt to reconcile two opposing cultural identities.

About Samantha Wall
Samantha Wall is an artist living and working in Portland, OR. In 2011, she received her MFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. That same year, she was awarded the Joan Mitchell MFA Award and was selected to be included in the First Look III exhibition at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art. As a person of mixed ethnicity, Samantha straddles two worlds with no firm foothold in either. She uses her work to examine the psychological spaces where the individual meets the group.
